NATIONAL HEALTH SERVICE ACT, 1946
(as amended by the Health Services and Public Health Act, 1968)
The Corporation of London is responsible for services as set out in Sections 21 to 28
(excluding Section 27) of the National Health Service Act, 1946. The Greater London Council is
responsible for the administration of all ambulance services within the Greater London area under
Section 27 of the Act.
TEMPLES ORDER, 1971
Following the Temples Order which came into effect in 1971, a greater volume of personal
health services have been provided to residents of the Temples.
SECTION 21 - HEALTH CENTRES
There are no such Centres in the City of London.
SECTION 22 - CARE OF MOTHERS AND YOUNG CHILDREN
During the year only one congenital defect of an infant born to City parents was recorded.
