" 3. That there is no overcrowding. The standard is fixed by the Act.
" 4. That a reasonable temperature is maintained.
" 5. That the water supply is suitable and sufficient.
"6. That adequate means are provided for draining floors liable to be wet
" in the course of trade.
"7. That suitable and sufficient sanitary appliances are provided for the
" use of each sex.
" 8. That under certain conditions proper means of exit are provided.
"9. That children, young persons and women are not improperly employed
" therein.
"10. That young persons are not improperly employed during the night.
"11. That the ' prescribed ' notices are affixed within the workshop.
"12. To notify the Borough Councils of the Metropolis and other outside
"Districts, of the names and addresses of out-workers residing and
"working in their Districts.
"13. To notify the District Inspector of Factories when any child, young
"person or woman is employed in a workshop in which no abstract
"of the Act is posted up.
"14. To see that premises occupied by out-workers (where their daily
"work is performed) are in fit condition to be occupied, and not
"injurious to the health of the workers.
"15. To make orders forbidding work to be carried on in any premises
"where infectious disease has occurred, until after disinfection or
"such time as may be specified.
"16. To see that Jews' workshops are not improperly occupied, that is to
"say, during every day of the week.
"17. To keep a Register of all workshops existing in the City.
" Factories.
"18. To see that notifications of sanitary defects in factories (received from
"His Majesty's Inspector of Factories) are attended to and the
"defects remedied.
