During the first six months the above included:—
14,734 tins of various kinds of fruit.
12,480 „ condensed milk.
12,300 „ miscellaneous preserved foods.
3.880 jars of preserved ginger.
72 „ sauce.
162 „ sweetmeats.
192 tins of fish.
49 bags of flour.
20 „ onions.
459 cases of raisins.
356 bushels of walnuts.
154 pecks of strawberries.
In the second half of the year this material was weighed on delivery at
the Wharf before being destroyed and the enumeration of tins, &c.,
discontinued.
When practicable it was burnt in the Destructor, otherwise it was placed
in barges and buried at a suitable place down the River under the supervision
of the Medical Officer of Health of the Port, who was duly notified in each
instance when the barge left the Wharf for its destination down stream.

Between 15th July and 31st December 83 tons, 14 cwts. of unsound food were dealt with, of which thw following are the particulars:-
