The fall in the proportion of visits 'for injection only (compared with 35% in 1962)
continues a trend, apparent for several years, to use oral therapy particularly in the treatment
of diabetics and cardiac cases.

These figures relate only to the first three quarters of the year, as the basis of recording
long-term cases has been changed. Long-term cases were formerly defined as those visited
more than 24 times during the year.
