1951 - Home population, i.e., resident civilian population, plus any British, Commonwealth or Foreign
Armed Forces stationed in the area.
There was a net loss of 21,000 in the population from the previous year's figure; the
major fall was again in the 25-44 years age group, followed by the 5-14, with further
increases at ages 15-24 and under 5 years.
