produced during the year.

The approximate numbers of pigs and poultry on the farms in the Mental Health Services at 31st March, 1946, and at the same date in each of the preceding three years (figures as at 31st March in earlier years not being available) were:—

During the year steps were taken to replace the herd of non-attested cattle at
Bexley Hospital farm by a tuberculin tested herd. When this replacement is completed,
the Council's long term policy of establishing attested herds at all the Council's
farms will have been achieved.
In addition to the areas of land shown above, which are farmed directly by the
Mental Health Services, there are approximately 290 acres of land attached to
general and special hospitals, which are under the general supervision of the Mental
Hospitals (Farming Operations Sub-) Committee.
