Subjoined are details of work carried out in 1946:—
The county average time to reach an emergency case (all kinds) was 8.4 minutes,
varying from 7.2 minutes at Westminster accident station to 9.4 minutes at Lee and
South-Western stations.
The average time taken to reach a street accident was 7.5 minutes.
The number of calls per station ranged from 6,336 at Bloomsbury to 2,280
at Woolwich accident station.
The greatest number of calls (3,132) was received during the hours of 3 to 4 p.m.,
and the lowest (1,259) between 5 and 6 a.m.
December was the month with the highest number of calls—5,424, and February
had the lowest—4,190.
