It will be seen that details are now available in respect of 3,021 males and 2,158
females, whose sputum contained tubercle bacilli. Study of the details in the various
age groups as regards previous contact with other cases of the disease confirms the
original findings. Thus the frequency with which contact with a previous case is
noted is seen to diminish with increasing age; for instance, while 15.4 per cent.
