Scarlet fever
There were 8,455 notifications of scarlet fever in 1937 (52 weeks), the corre. i
sponding figure for 1936 (53lweeks) being 10,705. The attack.rate was 2.1 per
thousand, compared with 2.6 for 1936. The deaths numbered 33, giving a death.
rate of .01 per thousand of the population at all ages and a case.mortality of .4 per
cent.
