The deaths in London attributed to diarrhoea and dysentery in the year 1894 numbered 1,77-4,
as compared with 3,445 in 1893.
The death rates per 1,000 living in 1894, and previous periods, have been as follows—

The diarrhœal death rate of each year since 1840 in relation to the mean death rate of the
period 1841-94 is shown in diagram XVI. The mean temperature of the summer of each year in
relation to the mean of the period 1841-94 is also shown.
