Factories
The provisions of the Factories Act, 1961 are administered by H. M. Inspector
of Factories of the Ministry of Labour and National Service, in conjunction with
the local sanitary authority. Close co-operation is maintained between the two, and
defaults found in the course of visits to factories are notified between one and
the other according to the body responsible for remedial measures.
Particulars of factory and other inspections carried out by the Council's Inspectors for Factories during 1962 are given in the following table:-
