Canal Boats Acts.
During the year Inspector Auger examined 4 canal boats, which were registered for the
occupation of 7 adults and 7 children and were occupied by 4 adults and 11 children. One
notice was served, viz., for non-production of registration certificate. The certificate was
produced at the next inspection.
A weekly inspection of the canal and wharves has been made and the absence of a greater
number of boats inspected is due to the small number of registered boats using the canal.
Inhabited House Duty.
One application for a certificate under Section 11 of the Inland Revenue Act, 1903, was
received during 1922, in respect of two buildings containing 96 rooms, some of which were
separately occupied and others occupied as dwellings of more than one room. The certificate
was not granted, the application being held over pending the consideration of alterations.
The Rag Flock Act, 1911.
No samples of rag flock were taken during 1922.
