There has been a similar difficulty in dealing with cases of overcrowding, the families
concerned being often unable to obtain more accommodation.
Smoke-Prevention.
During the year 775 observations of smoke shafts were made. There was one prosecution.
Constructional Drain Work.

The sanitary inspectors have the duty of supervising all work upon drains, including construction, reconstruction and repairs. During the year the following work has been done under this heading :—
