To the Medical Officer of Heath.
Sir,
I beg to submit my report for the year 1910.
I made 788 visits to the market streets and took 100 samples under the Sale
of Food and Drugs Acts.
52 visits were made to the premises where food was exposed for sale or in
course of preparation for sale.
177 visits were made to the cowsheds, dairies and milkshops.
I made 108 inspections of the licensed slaughter-houses, where I saw the
following animals killed and dressed
101 Bullocks
108 Sheep
1 Lamb
and examined the following carcases of : —
53 Beef
67 Mutton
4 Lamb
I had the following food destroyed : —
6 boxes of Roe
2½ cwt. of Salted Pigs Head
3 pairs of Ox Lungs (tuberculosis)
1 Ox Liver (flukey)
1½ cwt. of Skate
2 boxes of Grapes

Sir,
I beg to report on my work in the Northern and Eastern Divisions of the
Borough for the year ended December 31, 1910, as Inspector of Food and
Food Places.
Markets.— I made 1,826 inspections of the various market places, including
butchers, pork butchers, fishmongers, and greengrocers' shops and stalls.
The following articles were removed and destroyed, being unfit for the food
of man.
1 trunk of Whiting
1 trunk of Cod Fish
90 lbs. of Plaice, Skate, and Cod
51 tins of Sardines
7½ sieves of Plums
40 lbs. of Apples
4 boxes of Tomatoes
