During 1904, of a total of 772 infants under one year of age, alive and dead at the time of inquiry, 457 were found to be
breast-fed, 179 mixed-fed, and 124 hand-fed, representing respectively 60.1, 23.5, and 16.3 per cent.
During 1905, of a total of 793 infants under one year of age, alive and dead at the time of inquiry, 530 were found to be
breast-fed, 94 mixed-fed, and 155 hand-fed, representing respectively 66.8, 11.9, and 19.5 per cent. (See this Table
