DEATHS.
During the year 1901, the corrected total number of deaths from all causes
at all ages was 4320, being 335 less than during the preceding year, and 468
below the annual average of the preceding ten years. Per 1000 of the population
the death-rate was 18.1 compared with 19.1 in the previous year, and an annual
average of 20.0 in the preceding decennium.
The total number of deaths and the death-rates in the Sub-Districts are set out below, 196 deaths from all causes not referable to any particular Sub-Districts being distributed according to population :—
