and Regent's Park. The death-rate of children under one year per 1000
births was heaviest in the Regent's Park Sub-District, followed by Somers
Town, Tottenham Court, and Gray's Inn Lane, and least in Kentish Town
and Camden Town. The mortality from the principal zymotic diseases was
highest in Somers Town, followed by Gray's Inn Lane, and lowest in Camden
Town, followed by Kentish Town, Regent's Park, and Tottenham Court.
Phthisis showed the highest rate in Gray's Inn Lane, followed by Tottenham
Court. Other principal Lung Diseases produced the heaviest rates in Gray's
Inn Lane, Tottenham Court, and Somers Town. As in previous years, the
highest mortalities prevail in the southern portion of St. Pancras, and the
part nearest the centre of London.
