II.—VITAL STATISTICS.
AREA.
The boundary of the Parish of St. Pancras was described in detail in last
year's Annual Report for 1899. It is now desirable to place on permanent
record for statistical purposes the boundary of the Metropolitan Borough of
St. Pancras, that came into existence in November, 1900. It is also necessary
to record, with the alterations of the boundary, the properties that have
passed to or from St. Pancras, from or to either of the adjoining Boroughs,
and the Registration Sub-Districts of St. Pancras in which they were or are
situated. These alterations will commence to be taken into account in 1901.

Boundary of the Metropolitan Borough of Saint Pancras, 1900.
Commencing on the Northern border of the Borough at a boundary plate
on the east front of the "Gate House" Inn, Highgate, the boundary passes
through the "Gate House," and westward to and across The Grove at a point
about thirty yards south of Hampstead Lane, and thence continuing in a westerly
direction nearly parallel with Hampstead Lane, passing through the north
end of the outbuildings of Caen Wood Towers, continuing westward and
passing near the south side of the public footway near "Kenwood" Stables
and to the north of "Kenwood;" thence proceeding in a westerly direction
to a point near the south-eastern side of "Kenwood" Farm, where the
boundary stones mark the junction of Finchley, Hampstead, and St. Pancras,
thence in a southerly and south-easterly direction along the line marked by
boundary stones through part of the grounds belonging to "Kenwood," and
thence crossing Parliament Hill Fields to the back wall of the gardens at the
extreme north end of South Hill Park; from this point continuing in a southeasterly
direction the boundary follows the line of the wall forming the
boundary between Parliament Hill Fields and the gardens attached to the
houses in South Hill Park to the north side of the North London Railway,
thence in an easterly direction along the north side of the said railway to the
line of the west side of the footbridge across the said railway giving access
to the Parliament Hill Fields, thence in a southerly direction along the
outside of the parapet girder on the west side of the said bridge to the south
side of the said railway, thence continuing in a southerly direction along the
west side of the slope giving access to the footbridge from Savernake Road
up to the centre of Savernake Road, thence eastward along the centre of
Savernake Road to a point opposite Roderick Road, thence in a southerly
direction along the centre of Roderick Road to its junction with Mansfield
Road to a point opposite the centre of Southampton Road, thence in a
southerly direction along the centre of Southampton Road to a point
