Station was in course of erection, and as it was fully described and

IV.—SANITATIO N .
GENERAL WORK OF THE HEALTH DEPARTMENT.
In October last I made a Report to your Health Committee upon this
subject, which was presented to your Vestry 20th December, 1893. The
staff of the Department then consisted of 19 permanent officers, or practically
of 20, for the temporary Clerk has been temporarily engagel now about two
years, and his services cannot possibly be dispensed with, In addition three
temporary Sanitary Inspectors were engaged during the third quarter of the
year, and a temporary Special Inspector was appointed for three months to
survey the houses in that portion of the Somers Town area north of
Drummond Street.
Certain figures appeared in the Report, and are reproduced now as being
of permanent interest, especially as the fourth quarter of 1893 has since been
added to complete the triennium.

Complaints received during the years1891, 1892,and1893.
