TUBERCULAR DISEASES.
The principal Tubercular Diseases caused during 1884, 694
deaths, or 52 more than in 1888. The proportion of deaths
from these diseases was 144.7 per 1,000 deaths from " all
causes," or 2.8 per 1,000 of population. In London, during
the same period, the proportion was 140.8 per 1,000 of total

The following table shows the relative mortality from these
diseases in the sub-registration districts. There are 27 deaths
* The previous address of 23 persons dying from Pulmonary Diseases, and
223 persons dying from "all causes" could not be ascertained, and the deaths
of these persons are therefore excluded from consideration. All other deaths
are referred to the district to which they belong. The death rates are, for the
purpose of comparison, corrected, in view of the fact that the yoar is of fiftythree
weeks' duration, and the number of residents in hospitals and workhouses
is excluded from the population.
