not be traced to the districts to which they belong. (Vide Note,

SCARLET FEVER.
This disease caused 44 deaths in St. Pancras during 1884,
being 17 less than during the previous year, and about onethird
of the annual average of the previous ten years. The
proportion of deaths to 1000 deaths from "all causes" was 9.1
in 1884, and 20.1 in the years 1874-88. The proportion of
deaths to 1000 of population was 0.18 in St. Pancras.
In London, as a whole, these proportions were 17.3 and 0.37
respectively.
