Four samples of milk were procured during the early mornirg
(from 3 to 4 a.m.), from wholesale dealers whilst delivering milk
to the retailer. Two of these samples were reported against.
Proceedings were instituted and convictions obtained in each case.
19 samples of milk were procured on delivery at private houses,
one of which was reported as being adulterated. The adulteration
being small, no proceedings were taken, but the vendor was warned.

140 samples of milk have been taken on Sundays, either in the
early morning or at mid-day. 14 or 10 per cent. were reported
against as being adulterated, compared with 7.4 per cent. in 1914,
I0.6 per cent. in 1913, and 10 per cent. in 1912.
384 samples of milk were taken from milk vendors in the street
during the early morning (i.e., 5 to 7 a.m.), on week days, and of
these 29 or 7.5 per cent. were reported against.
Four samples of milk were taken from automatic milk supply
machines and all were reported to be genuine.
In 15 cases the defendants relied on a warranty, and in each
case the Magistrate was satisfied that the milk sold was in the same
condition as received, and therefore dismissed the summons.
Proceedings were taken against a milk carrier for refusing milk
for analysis and a penalty of 60s. was imposed.
Proceedings were also taken against a milk vendor for wiliul
obstruction, and a penalty of 60s. and 21s. costs was imposed.
