The total number of intimation notices served was 4,760,
compared with 5,897 in 1914, 6,305 in 1913, and 6,620 in 1912, and
of statutory notices 226, compared with 406, 540, and 707.
The greatest number of intimation notices was served in
Balham and Springfield Wards, and the smallest number in Southfield
and Putney Wards. The greatest number of statutory
notices was served in Springfield and Balham Wards and the
smallest number in Putney and Southfield Wards.
Only 39 of the statutory notices, 12 in Clapham, one in Putney,
four in Balham, II in Tooting, and 11 in Wandsworth, served in
1915, were not complied with at the close of the year.
Most of these notices were complied with in the beginning of
the current year, with regard to two the premises are unoccupied,
and in one a closing order has been obtained.
The number of statutory notices served include By-law notices,
65 of which were served in respect of the following contraventions
of the By-laws:—Yard paving 30, repairs to water closets 13,
repairs to flushing apparatus of water closets 13, cleansing of water
closets one, covers to cisterns two, cleansing cisterns four, absence
of cover to manure receptacle one, and for an improper fish
curing shed one.
The number of cases of overcrowding dealt with during the
year was 40, compared with 81 in 1914, 75 in 1913, and 76 in 1912.
Eight of these were in Clapham, two in Putney, seven in Streatham,
five in Tooting, and 16 in Wandsworth.
The cases of overcrowding in Clapham were in Rashleigh Street,
Wandsworth Road, Heath Road, Nelson's Row, Cambray Road
and Gauden Road; in Putney in Floss Street and Disraeli Road;
in Streatham in Mill Lane, Danbrook Road, Zennor Road and
Larch Road; in Tooting in Sellincourt Road, Pevensey Road,
Salvador and Smallwood Road; in Wandsworth in Warple Road,
Warple Way, Baylin Road, Point Pleasant, Armoury Yard, Bridge-
