Fairfield and Balham Wards had the highest percentage of
families living in one room, and Putney the lowest. Balham and
Clapham South had the highest percentage living in two rooms
and Tooting the lowest. Tooting had the highest percentage living
in three rooms, and Fairfield the lowest. Fairfield and Clapham
South had the highest percentage living in four rooms and upwards,
and Springfield the lowest.
In the Borough, of the total families whose houses were inspected
during the year, viz.:—2,958, 7.03 per cent. lived in one
room, compared with 8.28 per cent, in 1914, 9.50 per cent. in 1913,
and 9.50 in 1912; 13.76 per cent. in two rooms compared with
10.97, 12.90, and 13.44; 34.72 Per cent. in three rooms compared
with 29.19, 27.44, and 24.85; and 44.49 per cent. in four rooms and
upwards compared with 51.56, 50.16, and 52.4.
