92 Report of the Medical Officer of Health.
Last year the London County Council completed arrangements
for the treatment of non-insured persons in sanatoria. Advantage
has been taken of this, and during the year 45 cases have obtained
sanatorium treatment under this scheme. Of these, 30 were under
15 years of age and 15 over. In almost all the cases the children
have derived very great benefit. Quarterly reports are sent to the
London County Council after their return home.
Analysis of Cases.
Table LII. shows the number of tuberculous and non-tuberculous
cases grouped in age periods and the percentages found to be
tuberculous.
Of 716 cases, 330 were found to be tuberculous. This is a little
higher percentage than last year, though the number of tuberculous
cases was actually 49 less, and is explained by the fewer number of
non-tuberculous patients presenting themselves for examination.
Under the age of 15 there were 62 cases of tuberculosis, giving a
percentage of 17.5, which is also a little higher than in 1914.
At ages of 15 and upwards there were 268 cases of tuberculosis,
a percentage of 73.8.
