No cases of Small-pox were notified during the year, none in
1906, 1907, 1908, 1909, 1910, 1911, 1912 or 1913, one in 1905, six
in 1904, and 28 in 1903.
1,417 cases of Scarlet Fever were notified, compared with 971
in 1913, 833 in 1912, and 869 in 1911; of Diphtheria 552 compared
with 430, 431 and 510; of Enteric Fever 48, compared with 50, 71
and 58; of Puerperal Fever 30 compared with 32, 27 and 24; and
of Erysipelas 234, compared with 204, 207 and 202.
Compared with 1913 there has been an increase in the number
of cases of Scarlet Fever, Diphtheria, Erysipelas and Ophthalmia
Neonatorum, and a decrease in the number of cases of Enteric
Fever, Puerperal Fever, Cerebro-spinal Meningitis and PolioMyelitis.
Compared with the corrected decennial average there has been
an increase in the number of cases of Scarlet Fever, Diphtheria,
Puerperal Fever, and Polio-Myelitis; and a decrease in the number
of cases of Enteric Fever, Erysipelas, and Cerebro-Spinal Meningitis.
