The above were the cause of 77.8 per cent. of the total deaths,
compared with 79.1 in 1912, 69.4 in 1911, and 82.5 in 1910.
Cancer.
The total number of deaths from Cancer and other malignant
diseases was 352, 141 of males and 211 of females, compared with
338 in 1912, 321 in 1911, and 298 in 1910, an increase of 14 compared
with the previous year, and of 36 compared with the corrected
decennial average.
The corrected death rate was 1.07 per 1,000, compared with
1.07 in 1912, 1.04 in 1911, and .99 in 1910.
The number of deaths and the death-rate in each sub-district
was as follows:—Clapham 64 and 1.02; Putney 38 and 1.19;
Streatham 121 and 1.07; Tooting 25 and .63; and Wandsworth
104 and 1.09.
