Treatment of Tuberculous Patients.
24 of the 343 cases were in a quiescent stage of the disease and
required no treatment. They were kept under observation, attending
periodically for examination.
Of the remaining 319, 212 received the whole of their treatment
during the year at the Dispensaries and 107 receiving treatment
elsewhere in addition to dispensary treatment.
Of these 39 were treated in Sanatoria, 21 in Hospitals, 12 in
Poor Law Infirmaries, and 39 by their own Medical practitioners,
Four of the patients who went to Sanatoria, were afterwards
treated by their own medical practitioners, and figure twice in the
above list.
