at each of the two Dispensaries

Table LXXVII I. shows the sub-districts from which the patients
were drawn, and the authorities or agencies recommending them to
attend one of the Dispensaries.
The largest number of patients came from Wandsworth, the
smallest number from Putney. As many as 489 or 52.3 per cent.
of all the cases came from Wandsworth.
13 persons came from outside the Borough. These were
examined, and if found to be suffering from Tuberculosis, transferred
for treatment at Dispensaries in their own areas.
638 patients, or 68.1 per cent. were recommended by the Public
Health Department. This large proportion is due to the fact that
the Health Visitor visits every case of Tuberculosis notified in the
Borough. Any notified case not receiving treatment is advised
to attend one of the Dispensaries, as well as the contacts of all
notified cases in the Borough.
