93. Swimming competitions for school children were held at
the Wandsworth Baths on the 13th October, and a
free pass to the second-class bath, available during
the following year, was awarded to the successful
boy or girl from each school. The competitions are open to boys
and girls from schools in the Borough attending the baths for
instruction in swimming, the passes are available out of school
hours before seven o'clock in the evening. A large number of
children and their parents were present. All the departments of
elementary schools sending pupils to the baths for instruction in
swimming entered pupils for the competitions. The number of
children taking part in the competitions was 167—97 boys and 70
girls.
