The returns for the year 1910 again show a falling off as regards
successful vaccination, and with the exception of the sub.district
of Putney the record of the number of unvaccinated children in
the Borough is by no means a satisfactory one.
The low rate of successful vaccinations in Streatham is a
disquieting fact, as well as the great increase in the number of
certificates of conscientious objections received, not only in that
sub-clistrict, but in the Borough generally.
Fortunately, Small-pox was not introduced into the Borough
during the year, but there is no doubt that if such does occur the
spread of the disease will be difficult to arrest owing to the greater
proportion of unprotected persons.
