The large number of Students' Tickets issued (especially at
the Tate Library) is an indication that this additional privilege
continues to be much appreciated by borrowers.
Students attending the local classes of the London Workers'
Educational Association have been granted the same facilities for
pursuing their studies as those afforded to students attending the
University Extension Lectures.
Stock.
Every year the selection of books for the libraries necessitates
increasing care in seeing that important works
are not overlooked, careful consideration being
also given to the provision of suitable books bearing on the numerous
and varied subjects of general interest occupying public attention.
The extensive use which is made of the libraries necessarily involves
every year a considerable outlay for the replacement of populai
works that constant use has rendered unfit for further circulation.

The stock at the 31st March, after making the necessary deductions on account of replacements and discarded books, numbered 46,596 volumes, located as follows :—
