Revenue Act.
During the year 14 certificates were granted under the above
Act, one was deferred, and two refused.
The certificates granted referred to 73 houses, or 147 tenements.
Housing, Town Planning, &c., Act, 1909.
In this Borough, where the great majority of the houses are
comparatively new, the number of houses which at the present
could be dealt with under the above Act is very small, as an
inspection of the whole Borough shows. There are, however,
some small properties in the older parts where it was necessary to
take action, and five houses were closed under Section 17 of the
above Act.
Four of these houses were situated in Putney and one in
Wandsworth, and after reporting on the matter to the Public
Health Committee the premises were closed by the owner after
notice. Nothing has so far been done by the owner to render the
houses fit for habitation.
The question of taking action under Section 18 of the Act will
be considered by the Committee in the current year.
Three other houses, in Clapham, were reported on, but the
Committee after inspecting the houses were of opinion that they
could be dealt with under the Public Health (London) Act, and
notices were served under that Act, which were complied with.
