The increasing work at the Tate Library, combined with the
difficulties arising from the present insufficient accommodation, will
necessitate, at an early date, an extension of the building. The SubCommittee
regret, however, that in consequence of the limitation of
their funds, it will be impossible at present, without seriously
curtailing the amount required annually for the purchase of books, to
make such additions as are necessary for the growing requirements of
the district, so as to increase still further the usefulness of this
institution.
The Sub-Committee are pleased to express their appreciation of
the satisfactory and efficient manner in which the Librarian and his
Staff have discharged their duties during the past year.
Signed on behalf of the Sub-Committee,
A. DOUGLAS ROBINSON,
Chairman.
3rd May, 1909.
