Report—Public Analyst.
All these were found genuine, with the following two exceptions:—
Tincture of Iodine, Case No. 49 | 25 per cent, deficient in Iodine and Potassium Iodide |
Mercurial Ointment ” 850 | 64 per cent, deficient in Mercury |
These results indicate that 11.76 per cent, of the articles submitted
in this division were adulterated. In 1905 all were genuine.
IV.—Bread and Cereals.
These included :—
Bread 3 samples.
Sago 3 ,,
Arrowroot 2 ,,
Flour 2 ,,
Ground Rice 1 ,,
11 samples.
All these were found genuine.
V.—Alcoholic Beverages.
In this division the following were examined :—
Rum 2 samples.
Whisky 1 ,,
3 samples.
Of these, one sample of Rum and the one of Whisky were
found genuine, while one sample of Rum was reported against, asunder
:—
Rum, Case No. 843 12 deg. below legal limit.
This indicates a percentage of impurity amounting to 33.3.
