tween the old boundary wall and the fence separating such land
from the land let for recreation purposes. A portion of the cemetery
which was originally assigned by the Home Secretary for
consecrated ground (and which had been used for burials as such),
had not been consecrated, and steps were taken to have this and
also some of the additional land consecrated. The Home Secretary
approved the proposal, but as a considerable number of interments
had taken place in a piece of the ground at the northwestern
corner of the cemetery as in unconsecrated ground, besides
the interments which had taken place there as in consecrated
ground, it was decided to omit this piece from the consecration.
The other part of the land was consecrated by the
Bishop of Kingston on the 6th July.
