recommended for adoption by the Council. The Council, however,
disapproved of the bill and referred the matter back to the
Committee. A further amended bill was recommended and
adopted by the Council, but at a subsequent meeting the resolution
was revoked, and no further action was taken in the matter.
164. The new disinfecting station at Tooting has been comDisinfecting
pitted, and was opened by the Mayor on the 30th
station. September. The apparatus at Wandsworth has
been transferred to the new station and the disinfecting work for
the whole of the Borough is now carried out there. The station
contains infected and disinfected chambers, formalin chamber,
two steam chambers (one new and one transferred from Wandsworth)
boiler to be used for generating steam when the dust
destructor is not working, wash-house fitted with the necessary
laundry machinery, steam airing chamber, mess-rooms, and the
necessary offices for the staff. Particulars relating to disinfection
will be found in the report of the Medical Officer of Health, page
136.

167. The baths are open on week-days from 7 a.m. to 9.30
p.m., and on Sundays from 7 a.m. to 9.30 a.m. Tickets are
issued to within half-an-hour of closing time.
168. The swimming baths are reserved for ladios at the following
times, viz. :—
