Registrar General's weekly return, and 3.75 per 1,000
lower than the rate for all London (21.2), which was,
with the exception of that of the year 1850, the lowest
recorded within the annals of registration. A comparison
of the foregoing rates with those of the preceding
ten years, as shown in the following table, renders the
extraordinary lowness of the death-rate of the past year
strikingly apparent.
