received during the year and returned as genuine was as under:-

COMPLAINTS OF FOREIGN BODIES IN FOOD
Foreign Body in Milk
A bottle of milk, delivered to the home of a resident was found
to contain a piece of cinder.
The Manager of the dairy concerned stated that every precaution
was taken to ensure cleanliness of the bottleso
The bottle in question had apparently been misused and steps
had since been taken to prevent a recurrence.
A warning letter was sent to the Company.
Iron Bolt in Fruit Cake.
An iron bolt, approximately 1" x was found in a fruit cake
purchased from a baker in the borough.
The Manager of the baker's shop was interviewed by the Public
Health Inspector but was unable to offer any explanation in respect
of the incident.
After consideration the Committee decided that a warning letter
be sent to the baker from whom the cake was purchased.
