INSPECTION AND SUPERVISION OF FOOD

Milk Supply.
At the end of the year there remained on the register 43
distributors of milk whose premises are situated in the Borough,
and 25 distributors whose premises are situated outside the Borough.
Milk (Special Designations) Regulations, 1936-1949.
Under the Milk (Special Designations) Regulations, the following
Licences were issued:—

Milk Samples.
179 samples of milk were sent for bacteriological examination
and of these 4 failed to pass the Methylene Blue Test.
Ice Cream.
During the year 52 samples of Ice Cream were sent to the
Laboratory for Bacteriological examination, and were reported
upon as follows:—

Pharmacy and Poisons.
The names and addresses of 54 persons remained on the Council's
list of persons entitled to sell Poisons under Part II of the Pharmacy
and Poisons Act, 1933.
