TYPHOID FEVER.
During 1896 24 deaths were registered in Lambeth from
typhoid (or enteric) fever, as compared with 26 during
1895, and an annual average of 324 for the last ten years
(1886 to 1895).
162 cases were notified during 1896, as compared with
201 during 1895, and an annual average of 174.2 for the
six years, 1890 to 1895.
Of the 162 cases notified, 70 were removed to hospital
and 92 were treated at home.
