Distribution of Welfare Foods

The arrangements for issuing welfare foods were substantially the same as in the previous year.

Priority Dental Service for Mothers and Young Children
The dental officers have devoted 7% of their time to the
inspection and treatment of the priority classes. There has been a
slight increase in the number of expectant and nursing mothers
inspected, compared with 1959, with a corresponding increase in the
various forms of treatment.
Although in respect of the children under five there has been
a small reduction in inspection, the amount of conservative work
carried out was larger. The average number of fillings and silver
nitrate dressings per child treated was three, and extractions 0.95.
A great need exists for dental health education, and a valuable
opportunity is afforded when dealing with these mothers and young
children.

treatment given at all clinics during the past two years:-
