Nurseries and Child Minders Regulation Act 1948
The supervision of private day nurseries and child minders
under these regulations continued throughout the year. Inspections
were carried out at two to three monthly intervals, giving special
attention to the provision of plentiful accommodation for activity both
indoors and out, adequate numbers of staff, and suitable safety
measures to avoid accidents. All new applications for registration
were inspected in the company of a member of the County Architect's
staff who advised on structural alterations and repairs.

approved by the Committee and one was not approved. Four
registrations have been withdrawn as the owners have discontinued
