STATISTICS FOR 1934.
(SECTION A.)
Population—Change of Boundaries.
The statistics of births, deaths and notifiable diseases
supplied by the Registrar-General for the calendar year are
composite figures combining the records for the first portion of
the year prior to the change of boundaries which took place as
from 1st April with those for the altered area for the remaining
portion of the year.
The Registrar-General's normal mid-1934 estimate of population
for the Borough as now constituted is 95,271, but for use
with the composite statistics, a working population figure,
modified to take account of the fact that the records do not
wholly relate to the entire year, is provided, viz., 95,306, on
which figure the vital statistics are calculated. This figure is a
decrease of 664 on the Registrar-General's estimate of last year,
viz., 96,070.
