POPULATION, BIRTHS AND DEATHS.
Population. — The estimated population at the middle of
1928 was 92,250. The Registrar-General's estimate was 87,280—
a decrease of 411 on the Census figure of 1921.
Births Registered.—Eleven hundred and ninety-one babies
were born in Hornsey, the birth-rate being 12.1 per 1,000 population—a
considerable decrease on the figure (13.3) for the previous
year. Forty-five of the births were illegitimate, the number
being 48 last year.
