To the Mayor, Aldermen and Councillors of the
Borough of Hornsey.
Mrs. Cave and Gentlemen,
I have the honour to present to you my Annual Report on
the health of the Borough of Hornsey for 1928.
The only regrettable portion of the vital statistics for the year
is the increase in the number of deaths of infants under the age
of twelve months. It is not likely that this high rate of infant
mortality will be maintained in subsequent years.
As I have unfortunately been out of England during the
time when this Report would normally have been prepared, I have
done little more than give the necessary statistical information
for the year under review.
It only remains for me to give final expression to the gratitude
I feel towards Dr. Prior, Dr. Muir, Mr. Thorpe, Mr. Gilroy and
the other members of the staff of the department for their loyal
assistance during the period I was privileged to be your Medical
Officer of Health.
I have the honour to be,
Your obedient servant,
WILSON JAMESON.
