The cases were fairly evenly distributed throughout the year,
the fourth quarter being highest with 34 cases and the second
quarter lowest with 23 cases. The first and third quarters were
almost equal with 28 and 30 cases respectively.

Enteric Fever.—There were 10 cases of this disease notified
in 1913, as compared with 9 cases in 1912, and an average of 23
cases for the twenty years 1893.1912).
Three cases of the 10 notified proved fatal.
The number of cases of Enteric Fever in the Borough was
one more than in 1912 (10 against 9), but well below the average
for recent years. The attack rate is exactly half that of England
and Wales.
Isolation Hospital.—As compared with the previous year
there were 188 more patients admitted in 1913, viz.:—588 in 1913
and 400 in 1912.
