The Ward death-rates for the last 6 years are as follows:—
Ward. | Death rates per 1,000 | |||||
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
1910. | 1909. | 1908. | 1907. | 1906. | 1905. | |
Highgate | 6.4 | 7.7 | 7.7 | 9.7 | 8.87 | 7.85 |
Muswell Hill | 6.3 | 6.3 | 6.5 | 5.8 | 6.16 | 6.87 |
Crouch End | 5.5 | 6.8 | 8.3 | 6.2 | 6.03 | 7 08 |
West Hornsey | 8.1 | 8.9 | 9.1 | 9.1 | 11.10 | 10.30 |
East Hornsey | 6.3 | 9.2 | 8.7 | 9.7 | 9.27 | 8.0 |
North Haringey | 8.8 | 9.6 | 9.7 | 8.9 | 9.89 | 8.44 |
South Haringey | 8.4 | 6.7 | 6.7 | 10.2 | 9.63 | 8.58 |
Stroud Green | 8.7 | 9.1 | 6.6 | 7.1 | 6.92 | 5.98 |
Finsbury Park | 10.5 | 12.1 | 10.9 | 8.9 | 11.04 | 10.22 |
The Borough | 7. | 8.5 | 8.2 | 8.49 | 8.85 | 8.16 |
These are net death-rates. The rates for years previous to
1905 are not comparable, as it is not possible now to obtain the
numbers so as to apply the correction for deaths of residents and
non-residents.
Except in South Haringey, which has a higher death-rate,
and Muswell Hill, where the rate is the same as in 1909, every
Ward shows an improvement on the very low death-rates of the
preceding year. The figures for East Hornsey are particularly
satisfactory, as this is the poorest Ward. In West Hornsey, also,
the fall from 11.1 in 1906 to the present death-rate of 8.1 is very
good.
