AGES AT DEATH.
Of the 4,030 deaths, 1,200 were of children less than 1 year old,
765 of children between the ages of 1 and 5—231 between 5 and 20—
463 of persons from 20 to 40—551 from 40 to 60, and 820 of 60 years
and upwards. These facts will be more readily seen by reference to
the following table:—

Of every 1,000 children born therefore in Islington, 150 die before
they are a year old. The average for all England is 153, and for the
chief towns of England 197.
