Without the Borough.—There were 684 Islingtonians, as compared
with an average of 617 in the preceding 10 years, who died in institutions
outside the Borough. With the exception of the year 1902, this is the largest
number hitherto recorded, as may be seen by the subsequent table.
The institutions in which they died, together with the number of deaths,
are fully set out in Table LXXIV, which shows the deaths of the inhabitants in
public and charitable institutions situated without the Borough. It may, be
said, however, that the largest number were registered from St. Bartholomew's
Hospital, where 90 died. This was followed in order by the Childrens' Hospital,
Great Ormond Street, where 63 died; by the University College Hospital,
where 48 died, and by the North-Eastern Hospital, where 44 died.
Accidental and sudden deaths without the Borough.-23 deaths of
this character occurred in the several metropolitan districts. They are tabulated
at the foot of Table LXXIV.
